Demi + Steven had such a unique and inspirational wedding! In all my years of doing weddings, I have never seen a surrealist themed wedding. Truly original. Everything was artistic with a personal meaning behind everything.
Demi had this to say about her inspiration: I wanted something slightly vintage and with an old Hollywood feel. It seemed only natural that we have a Surrealist inspired wedding, as we are fascinated by the subconscious and bizarre. Surrealism is about desire, frenzy, and unconscious drives. This seemed very appropriate to our relationship. I also like the irony of the intense misogyny of Surrealism mingled with the fact that a woman planned everything.
Wedding Location: Bower’s Museum in Santa Ana (Huang Sculpture Garden)
This is not your seat??
Demi and her aunt spray painted all the centerpieces white.
Love his bow tie and his converse.
The couple’s table. Since Steven has degrees in Psychology so they did a Freud Table, which was the only black table at the reception.
The officiant put a cut out of an apple on a stick in front of his face while wearing a bowler hat to mimic Rene Magritte’s “Son of Man” painting. Demi walked down the aisle to the string version of Duran Duran’s “Electric Barbarella”
