As soon as I showed Wendy her Santa Monica Engagement Session, she sent me this text:

“OMG they came out awesome! I love them, Dana! OMG, you are worth every penny.”

Makes my life.

Wendy and Alex are the kind of couple that are very different yet have so much in common. They look in different directions a lot. They even have a side they stick to, in order to keep walking straight, which I find hilarious. They have been together many years and have learned how to make it work and have fun doing it.

We shot their photography by the 3rd Street Promenade and Santa Monica Pier on a gorgeous day last week.

This jacket kept making its way into my shots. It was like one of those little doll projects that you have to take photos of it in different scenarios all over the world.

Here is part two of Kasey + Sam’s Engagement with a baseball theme. Kasey grew up going to baseball games so she wanted to reflect something special to her in these images. She’s an Angel’s fan and he’s a Dodger’s fan (and Angel’s fan) but she loves him anyway!

They came out so cute!

I’ve known Kasey since I shot her family and her graduation pictures. We even had dinner a few years ago while discussing relationships and wondering who Mr. Right was going to be. And as soon as she knew she found him, she also knew she wanted me to shoot the wedding. I love it when that happens.

Mr. Right (Sam) teaches rowing at the Newport Aquatic Center and they thought it would be fitting to do the engagement shoot there. It was an amazingly perfect day and I felt so lucky that I got to be shooting ON A BOAT. Or boat type thingy, in this case.

Since this fit with Sam’s personality, we shot the last part of their session at a baseball field, fitting with Kasey’s personality. Super cute. Coming soon!
