Orange County Photography: Amy + Steven

Amy + Steven have such a cool quietness about them that I loved to photograph. And I love the story of how they met: They were both sitting and a restaurant nearby each other when Amy made a comment about the comic Steven was reading… He says she was checking him out and she says she was genuinely interested in the comic. Ha!

We shot this a few months ago. They are already married and their wedding will be up soon!

Corona Del Mar Photography: Allison + Joe

Is there anything better than sharing a delightful cocktail (or three) and amazing food with your Love? It’s one of my favorites! Same for Allison + Joe. She even has a food blog where she writes about all the yummy foodie restaurants in Orange County, many of which are my faves. Since Joe is English we thought doing a little session at SideDoor + 5 Crowns was fitting for a little of Joe’s personality. Then we headed to Corona Del Mar beach since Allison is a true California girl.

Colors of Miami part 2: Engagement

This is part two of the Colors of Miami shoot. Click here to see part 1.

While in Miami for the Target event at Hispanicize, Julia wanted to collaborate on her concept of a shoot she calls “Colors of Miami.” She writes so beautifully so this blog post is her words to my photography.

Conceptualized, styled and written by Julia of Serindiptious Events by Julia
Photography: Dana Grant
Hair and Makeup: Courtney Eads of Courtney K. Designs.

Lance and Racquel
In an instant Dana saw the backdrop of this 1950’s ish diner. Once Lance appeared in the doorway with that smile and Racquel lit up with excitement for her faux love, the symbiosis began. Youth, beauty, innocence and the arrival of instant attraction came to fruition when these two came together to create our military couple. There is such vivaciousness in two individuals that had never met each other, and such a sweet chemistry. It isn’t a challenge to create an evoking photograph when the souls create laughter, protection, excitement and break down the barriers that often prevent us from our greatest experiences. These two brought smiles to everyone’s face. They brought back those memories of what it felt like to see someone that you feel a lure towards.

Hidden Chateau Photography; Linda + Vince Bridal Engagement

Linda + Vince hired me to shoot their wedding in beautiful Malibu, at the Malibu Nature preserve. Since they are from out of town we only had the week before the wedding to do their engagement. Linda chose to wear a different wedding dress and also an amazing purple dress she made! So talented.

Hidden Chateau and Gardens in West Hills is such an amazing place for a weddings, engagements or any type of photography!

Linda + Vince are such warm, wonderful people. I can’t wait to share their beautiful wedding.

And here’s one from their wedding!

Los Angeles Photography: Juanita + Joshua

Juanita + Joshua are both actors who gave me so much to work with! They are fun, lively and expressive. They were going for a 1920s style so we started at one of my favorite LA spots, Cole’s Originator of the French Dip. Then we walked around downtown and found more cool spots. I don’t prefer to shoot at night, but this session may have persuaded me…

Thank you Juanita + Joshua for this inspiration!
